Cashmere is a noble and delicate material that loves water. A cashmere sweater should be washed regularly, after being worn two or three times. Machine washing is suitable for cashmere sweaters. Always use a wool program and do not exceed 500 rpm for spinning. Contrary to what one might think, cashmere does not tolerate fabric softener. Hand washing is also a possible alternative, following the same instructions as for machine washing, kneading gently for a few minutes without wringing. The cashmere sweater should always be dried flat to maintain its original shape. If the knit shows some creases, it can be ironed gently at low heat without stretching the fabric.
